Welcome back to the Time Machine!<\/strong>
2003<\/strong> was a year rich in cinematic milestones<\/strong>. With The Return of the King<\/strong>, Peter Jackson<\/strong> concluded his masterful Lord of the Rings trilogy<\/strong>. At the 2004 Academy Awards<\/strong>, the film swept the board with eleven Oscars<\/strong>, equalling the record set by Ben-Hur (1959)<\/strong> and Titanic (1997)<\/strong>. But it was also the year of Clint Eastwood\u2019s Mystic River<\/strong> (Oscars for Sean Penn<\/strong> and Tim Robbins<\/strong>), Sofia Coppola\u2019s Lost in Translation<\/strong> (Oscar for Best Original Screenplay<\/strong>), and Quentin Tarantino\u2019s Kill Bill: Volume 1<\/strong> \u2013 the opening chapter of a cult phenomenon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Music in 2003<\/strong> was just as diverse. The White Stripes released Elephant<\/em><\/strong>, with its unforgettable anthem Seven Nation Army<\/strong>. 50 Cent<\/strong> burst onto the scene with Get Rich or Die Tryin\u2019<\/em>. Amy Winehouse<\/strong> introduced herself with her debut album Frank<\/em>. And Beyonc\u00e9 launched her solo career<\/strong> with Dangerously in Love<\/em> \u2013 an album that heralded her record-breaking rise to global superstardom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the FILA universe<\/strong>, 2003 marked another important chapter in motorsport<\/strong>. Following its collaboration with Ferrari (2002)<\/strong>, FILA partnered with Ducati<\/strong>, the legendary motorcycle manufacturer founded by Adriano Ducati<\/strong> in Borgo Panigale, Bologna<\/strong>. Ducati\u2019s origins (1926)<\/strong> as Societ\u00e0 Scientifica Radio Brevetti Ducati<\/strong> showcased a pioneering spirit that later evolved into the motor industry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 2003 FILA\u2013Ducati collaboration<\/strong> launched with the slogan \u201cTwo Italian stories, one passion\u201d<\/strong>. It expressed the qualities shared by both companies: vision of the future, meticulous attention to detail and an unrelenting desire for victory<\/strong>. The campaign was pure rock \u2019n\u2019 roll<\/strong>, pairing motorcycles with iconic soundtracks such as David Bowie\u2019s Rebel Rebel (1974)<\/strong> and Bon Jovi\u2019s It\u2019s My Life (2000)<\/strong>. The apparel collection<\/strong> balanced technical uniforms and classic cuts<\/strong>, worn by some of the era\u2019s most celebrated riders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One of them was Australian Troy Bayliss<\/strong>, nicknamed \u201cBayllistic\u201d<\/strong>, the only rider to win three world titles on three different Ducati models<\/strong>.
Britain\u2019s Neil Hodgson<\/strong> became Ducati\u2019s number one rider in 2003<\/strong> on the FILA Ducati 999<\/strong>, at just 30 years old. Alongside him, Spanish rider Rub\u00e9n Xaus<\/strong> brought his distinctive style and fearless energy<\/strong>, contending for the 2003 World Superbike Championship title with Ducati<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Both Hodgson and Xaus<\/strong> featured in the Spring\u2013Summer lookbook<\/strong>, photographed by Fabrizio Porrozzi<\/strong> and Giulio Viggi<\/strong>. The collection was introduced with these words:<\/p>\n
